A Common Sense Reading Series
A Common Sense Reading Series showcases both local and national contemporary writers and fosters a vibrant literary community in Kansas City.
Since 2011, the series has been organized by Jordan Stempleman, an Associate Professor of Liberal Arts at the Kansas City Art Institute.
Literary Connections
The series highlights the diverse and thriving literary scene in Kansas City, featuring readings from authors, poets, and writers from the KC metro area and beyond.
Through on-campus readings in the fall and remote reading in the spring, Stempleman creates an inclusive space for contemporary voices, engaging a wide audience and strengthening connections between writers and the local community.
