Amie Barrodale is the author of the story collection You Are Having a Good Time (FSG Originals). Her writing has appeared in Harper’s, The Paris Review, Ploughshares , and other publications. She received the Plimpton Prize in 2012, and her debut novel Trip is forthcoming from Farrar, Strauss and Giroux.

Clancy Martin is University of Missouri Curators’ Professor of Philosophy at UMKC. He is the author of more than a dozen books and more than 300 stories, essays and pieces, in places like The New Yorker, Harper’s (where he is a contributing editor), The Atlantic, The New York Times, The London Review of Books and many others. A Guggenheim Fellow, Thomas Jefferson Award, and Pushcart Prize winner, his work has been translated into more than 30 languages, and his latest book, How Not to Kill Yourself, was a Times Magazine 100 Must reads of 2024. He Lives in midtown Kansas City with his wife, the writer Amie Barrodale, and has five children ranging in age from 29 to 2.
